• Device discovery handles all driver types — child device types (e.g. ms250) are now correctly resolved during discovery promote, so multi-tier switch stacks are fully recognized
• Device configuration batch preview — administrators can preview how a configuration template will affect a set of devices before committing changes
• Simplified network requirements — Greengrass/MQTT now connects on port 443, reducing the firewall rules districts need to open for cloud connectivity

How Does It Impact Our Customers?

Districts gain meaningful day-to-day improvements across the devices workflow. Technicians can now view, reboot, and remove known devices straight from the live table — no manual workarounds needed. Cloud commands issued from the console now reliably execute at the edge, so discovery and reboot operations complete as expected. And by switching the MQTT connection to port 443, districts with strict outbound firewall policies no longer need to open a separate port, making initial setup and ongoing connectivity simpler.

What Is EPIC+ 1.5?

EPIC+ 1.5 is the current feature line, delivering centralized device management and configuration for Audio Enhancement appliances. This 1.5.1 patch release closes several gaps in the devices workflow — connecting the UI to live data, correcting edge command dispatch, and hardening device discovery — alongside targeted reliability and security fixes.

Why Does It Matter?

Managing audio appliances across a district requires confidence that what you see in the console reflects reality and that commands you issue actually reach the devices. This patch directly addresses two issues where that trust was broken: commands dispatched from the cloud weren't reaching the edge, and discovery was silently dropping child device types. Fixing these restores the reliability districts depend on for maintaining healthy audio environments in every classroom.
