AE1 1.7.2 Release Highlights

Updated

Key Features

  • Play Bell is now available for both known and newly discovered devices, giving administrators a fast way to identify and locate speakers on the network.
  • Improved reliability for network refresh commands, so device network status stays accurate and up to date.
  • Smoother, more stable navigation and configuration loading across the EPIC+ interface.

How Does It Impact Our Customers?

Administrators get a quicker, more reliable way to confirm which device they're working with — triggering Play Bell on any known or newly discovered device makes physical identification effortless during setup and troubleshooting. Behind the scenes, tightened handling of network refresh commands and configuration loading means the interface behaves more predictably, with fewer hiccups during everyday use.

What Is EPIC+ 1.7?

This patch release refines the EPIC+ 1.7 line with a targeted set of reliability improvements and one new device-management capability. It builds on the existing platform without introducing any changes to setup or workflow — customers already on EPIC+ 1.7 will pick up these improvements automatically.

Why Does It Matter?

Small, steady improvements like these keep classrooms and campuses running smoothly with minimal disruption. Faster device identification through Play Bell and more dependable network status reporting help IT and facilities teams resolve issues quickly, so the focus stays where it belongs — on supporting teaching and learning.

Technical Release Notes 1.7.2

Additions

Play Bell Action for Devices

You can now trigger a Play Bell action directly from the device list, on both known devices and devices found through discovery. This plays a short audible tone on the device so you can physically locate it or confirm it is powered and reachable, without leaving the page.

  • Available from Devices > Device List, on both the Known Devices table and the discovered-devices (Unknown Devices) table.
  • Each row shows its own Play Bell status while the command is in progress, so you can trigger it on multiple devices independently.

Fixes

Network Refresh Status Now Reports Correctly

Refreshing a device's network information could leave the action appearing stuck instead of reporting success or failure back to the device list. The underlying command is now correctly tracked end to end, so the Devices page reflects the real outcome of a network refresh.

Organization Management and School Settings Navigation

Fixed an issue that prevented the Organization Management and School Settings navigation items from being shown to accounts with early access to this feature, even after it was enabled for them. Accounts with this feature enabled will now see the navigation items appear as expected.
