How Does It Impact Our Customers?

This release makes day-to-day device and network management noticeably smoother for districts. Administrators can now test and refresh network connectivity for their devices without waiting on support, and the redesigned School Settings and Discover Devices screens make configuration and setup faster and more intuitive. Support teams benefit too — new remote diagnostics and the ability to remotely trigger a test sound on a device mean issues can be identified and resolved faster, minimizing disruption for teachers and students in the classroom.

What Is EPIC+ 1.7?

EPIC+ 1.7 is a feature release focused on strengthening network visibility and control for districts, alongside a refreshed administrative experience. It introduces new network configuration, diagnostic, and remote-support capabilities, along with UI improvements to School Settings, Discover Devices, and user management. The release also includes a number of behind-the-scenes reliability improvements to keep device connectivity accurate and up to date.

Why Does It Matter?

Reliable classroom audio depends on reliable device connectivity, and this release gives districts and support teams the tools to see and resolve network issues faster than ever before. By putting network diagnostics and remote support directly in the hands of administrators, EPIC+ 1.7 reduces downtime and keeps the focus where it belongs — on teaching and learning, not troubleshooting.

Additions

School Settings

Schools now have a dedicated settings area for configuring school-specific defaults. To configure, navigate to Org Management > School Details.

  • Upload a school logo
  • Set date and time display format
  • Require a PIN for certain actions
  • Set a calendar start month/year
  • Add maintenance contact name, email, and phone
  • Manage an allowlist of approved alert senders

Edit Device IP Address and Password

Administrators can now update a device's IP address and password directly from the device's configuration screen under Devices > Device List, with live status feedback while the change is applied.

User Management in Left Navigation

A User Management link is now available directly in the left navigation for district- and school-scoped users, rather than requiring a separate path to reach user administration.

Improvements

Health Insights (formerly Fleet Wide Analytics)

The Fleet Wide Analytics tab under Lighthouse > System Health has been renamed to Health Insights. The default page shown when opening Lighthouse has also changed to the System Health Dashboard.

Discover Devices Cleanup

The Discover Devices list (Devices > Device List, Unknown Devices) no longer shows devices that are already registered elsewhere, and discovered-but-unclaimed devices are now automatically cleared after a retention period so the list stays current. The Discover Devices layout has also been improved for phones and tablets.

Fixes

Device Command Reliability

Device commands — such as editing a device's IP address or password — could occasionally be marked as failed due to a delayed response from an earlier attempt. This has been corrected, along with more reliable timing during device restarts.

ClearConnect Navigation

Fixed an issue that could prevent switching to ClearConnect from within EPIC+.
