EPIC System 2.5.2.1

Technical Release Notes 2.5.2.1

Additions

  • Added support for the new microphone in EPIC. The microphone has two new buttons, one is an intercom button the user clicks, and EPIC will initiate an intercom call. There’s a new Secure Room button that can be used during a Lockdown that if pressed will notify the office that the room has followed lockdown procedures.

  • Added support for the Clever SSO in EPIC.

  • When a room turns yellow on the Kiosk, it is unclear to some users why the room is yellow. We added a small warning to that room, and when that room is selected a notification in the right-hand menu will inform users what actions should be taken to get the room operational.

  • We updated and improved the UI with the header in EPIC.

  • New User Management Tab: To help with managing users within EPIC, and cleaning up the tabs, we combined the Roles tab, and the permissions tab into a new tab. All the functionality remains the same.

Fixes

  • With the 2.5.0.0 version, we found that with older versions of the Kiosk, EPIC would break and not display major features needed to run EPIC. We have introduced a fix that will allow both the newer and older Kiosks will display all the new functionality introduced with 2.5.0.0.

  • There is an issue where Kiosks could become unregistered and disconnect, Paging and Intercom would therefore not work. Fixed this so that when the Kiosks become unregistered/disconnected, the Kiosk will attempt to re-register until it is successful.

  • With the new 2.5.0.0 version, we found that older versions of the Kiosk, EPIC would not function correctly. Fixed this so EPIC will work on both the older and newer versions of the Kiosk.

  • We found an issue where if a Kiosk had the screensaver on, it would not dismiss the screensaver if a SAFE Alert was triggered. This was corrected so the screensaver will dismiss and display EPIC with the SAFE Alert.

  • There was an issue with the ITC layouts where a user could save the layout without any pages. This would send blank screens to the ITC. This has been fixed so the layouts can’t be saved without any pages.

  • Corrected a minor issue with the CAP feeds, when a feed was set up, EPIC was not parsing it correctly. This has been fixed.

  • When a school or district is set up on LDAP, the Group Mapping does not display the groups until the Show All Groups is clicked. This has been corrected to show All Groups.

  • If multiple users were logged in to EPIC on various devices, and a SAFE Alert was triggered, the SAFE listen mode would not work properly. We have fixed this issue so that the SAFE listen mode will continue to work even when multiple users are logged in.

  • For the MS700, if a user resets the volumes to factory default, it won’t reset them. We fixed this issue.

  • If a user has an apostrophe in their email address, EPIC won't allow them to log in. This issue has been fixed.

  • We found an issue where users could not schedule an ITC layout to be uploaded at a later time. We fixed this issue, and layouts can now be scheduled to upload at a specified time.

Tech Notes
