EPIC System 3.0.1

Technical Release Notes 3.0.1

EPIC 3.0 is a major release update that includes significant user backend changes needed to provide enhanced security, improved performance, and support. Administrators should review the EPIC Interactive Training Module and prepare and train users prior to rolling out the updates.

When migrating from a version prior to 2.5, notification events must be manually migrated to a contact list and then added to events. If administrators edit events after updating to 2.5 prior to migrating contacts, event contacts may be lost.

Fixes

  • The CZA-1300 devices wouldn't properly remove device driver objects, causing the device status to flicker between yellow and green. This has been resolved, so the drivers are properly removed and displaying the correct status.

  • We found an issue where teachers could not interact with ViewPath and start or stop recordings. This has been fixed, so the page functions correctly and recordings can be started or stopped.

  • In some instances, if a user has a bell schedule with an Associated Event, the bell and the event would not work. This has been fixed so that the programmed events will start when associated with a bell.

  • In some instances, EPIC would crash when starting a recording from a microphone due to a missing TCP connection. This has been fixed to ensure EPIC doesn't crash when no TCP connection is found.

  • We found that in some cases, door sensors would immediately go into Alert status and skip the Warning status. This has been fixed so that if a warning is set up for the door sensors, it would warn first, then go into an Alert status.

  • We found that user-uploaded ITC images were not included in the EPIC backup file, and upon upgrading to EPIC 3.0.0, those images would be lost. We made a change to ensure these images are saved in the backup and will display properly in EPIC 3.0.0.
