Technical Release Notes 3.1.0
EPIC 3.0 is a major release update that includes significant user backend changes needed to provide enhanced security, improved performance, and support. Administrators should review the EPIC Interactive Training Module and prepare and train users prior to rolling out the updates.
When migrating from a version prior to 2.5, notification events must be manually migrated to a contact list and then added to events. If administrators edit events after updating to 2.5 prior to migrating contacts, event contacts may be lost.
Additions
Added functionality for our new SAFE Badges
The badges will have 2 side buttons and a front alert button, which can be configured
To configure the badges, a new tab has been added to choose either a 2-tier alert or a single button press for a SAFE/Escalated alert.
The ability to assign a badge or microphone to a user
Go to Settings > System Settings > User Management > Equipment
Implemented UI for a streamlined registration process for badges and AE teacher mics, along with a global whitelist switch for badge/mic alerts.
Implemented new email notifications for badges. These emails will be sent out when battery levels for the badges fall below 20%.
District View SAFE and escalated alerts
Added full support for the new MS-775 and MS-720 devices. These devices can be used with ITCs, SAFE Alerts via badge and microphone combinations.
CZAs are now fully supported to include SAFE Alerts using badges and microphones, ITCs, and Door Sensors.
Added functionality to check for duplicate extensions across the EPIC application to prevent extensions from being duplicated and ensure Intercom and Paging always work.
Fixes
Found an issue where if a user name contains an apostrophe, and it's in the ring group, the ring group would not load. We fixed this so even when there is an apostrophe, the ring group will load correctly.
We found that at times, the yellow highlighting for offline devices within rooms would disappear after selecting the room. We have fixed this, so if there is an offline device in a room, the yellow highlighting will be persistent.
In some instances, the Dynamic Paging, after selecting 'Entire School', then removing a room, it caused the dynamic paging to not function. We have fixed this issue.
We found an issue where the ‘Enable ITC’ on the MS700 device was missing from the device edit screen. We have fixed this so the checkbox is on the edit page, and is unchecked by default.
Found an issue when a non-paired SAFE alert is triggered, and then escalated to Lockdown event with the Confirm room enabled. The non-Paired SAFE alert circles would take precedence, and the users couldn’t see the Confirm Rooms. Now, users can tap the modals and switch between the Lockdown Confirm room and the non-Paired SAFE alert circles being shown on the map.
Fixed an issue where, at night, EPIC would reset the camera time zone, causing issues with recordings and the streaming camera views. This has been fixed to ensure the time zone matches EPIC.
In EPIC, when setting the Time Zone, it would not save correctly. We fixed this to ensure the saving works correctly, and that they are correctly pushed to the cameras.
