Technical Release Notes 3.1.5
EPIC 3.0 is a major release that includes significant user-facing backend changes to enhance security, improve performance, and provide better support. Administrators should review the EPIC Interactive Training Module and prepare and train users prior to rolling out the updates.
When migrating from a version prior to 2.5, notification events must be manually migrated to a contact list and then added to events. If administrators edit events after updating to 2.5 prior to migrating contacts, event contacts may be lost.

Fixes
Badge Name Formatting
Corrected an issue where newly added badges entered in lowercase would not be handled correctly by EPIC. Badge names are now automatically converted to uppercase for consistent processing.Badge User Display
Fixed a problem where badges assigned to users without a “Full Name” would appear as if they were assigned to a null user. EPIC will now display the associated username when a full name is not available.MS Device Settings & Active Notifications
Resolved a disruption where modifying and saving an MS device’s settings would interrupt active bells or notifications across the school. Now, only the device being updated pauses playback—other devices continue uninterrupted.Device Reboot Reliability
Fixed an issue preventing MS-775 and CZA-1300 devices from rebooting through EPIC when selected. Reboots now function as expected for these devices.Device Status Reporting
Resolved an issue where CZA-1300, MS-775, and MS-720 devices were not accurately reporting their status to District View. These devices now correctly communicate their real-time status.Badge Assignment Workflow
Corrected a condition where badges created without an assigned user could not have a user added later. Users can now be assigned at any time without needing to delete and recreate the badge.LDAP Regex Validation
Updated LDAP validation to support a wider range of valid domain suffix formats, including numbers, using this regex pattern:/^(?:[A-Za-z0-9](?:[A-Za-z0-9-]{0,61}[A-Za-z0-9])?\.)+[A-Za-z][A-Za-z0-9-]{0,61}[A-Za-z0-9]$/Unencrypted LDAP Port Handling
Fixed an issue where unencrypted LDAP using port 389 would fail to connect due to incorrect flag handling. Connections on port 389 now succeed as intended.Email Address Validation
Resolved an issue where apostrophes in email addresses were not accepted. EPIC now properly supports email formats containing apostrophes.EduCam360-B Lens Response
Improved camera behavior during SAFE alerts. A 1-second buffer has been added to ensure the lens fully opens before live video begins, preventing loss of initial footage.Firmware Updates for PoE Clocks
Resolved a bug where PoE Clocks would not receive firmware updates despite EPIC reporting success. Firmware now deploys correctly.Additional Minor Fixes
Various performance, stability, and user experience improvements across the platform.
