EPIC 3.4.0 introduces System Diagnostics, a new administrative tool for monitoring system health and validating configuration. This release also simplifies VIEWpath deployment by removing the separate Campus VIEWpath license requirement, and includes targeted fixes for Google SSO authentication, MAC address handling, and VIEWpath recording reliability.

Additions

• System Diagnostics — A new administrative dashboard providing visibility into system health, service status, and configuration validation. Administrators can proactively monitor EPIC server components from a single interface.

• VIEWpath License Simplification — VIEWpath on EPIC no longer requires a separate Campus VIEWpath license, reducing deployment complexity for campus-wide installations.

• SAFE Monitoring Logs — SAFE monitoring logs are now shown only when the SAFE integration is active.

• Device Firmware Update — EPIC now ships firmware 1.0.12 for CZA-1300, MS720, and MS775 devices, applied automatically through the standard upgrade process.

• Updated Login Screen Imagery — The EPIC login screen now displays refreshed imagery, replacing the previous outdated graphic.

• Motorola CommandCentral Aware Integration — EPIC now integrates with Motorola CommandCentral Aware. Administrators configure the integration with their Aware client credentials and a default location, then add the new Motorola CommandCentral Aware event action to events in the Event Engine. When triggered, EPIC sends the alert to Aware with event details and location.

• New Event Action Variables — New dynamic variables are now available when configuring event actions:

  • {{currentTimeMS}} — current time in milliseconds since epoch

  • {{currentTimeISO}} — current time in ISO 8601 format

  • {{currentTimePlusFourHoursISO}} — current time plus four hours (ISO 8601)

Fixes

• Google SSO Configuration — Updated Google SSO configuration to correctly handle prompt=consent authentication scenarios, resolving login failures for customers using Google identity providers.

• MAC Address Extraction on User Equipment — Corrected the MAC address extraction logic in the User Equipment ID field to capture the full identifier from scanned input.

• VIEWpath Recording Job Identifiers — Fixed an issue where VIEWpath recordings were associated with incorrect job identifiers, ensuring reliable recording retrieval.

Major Version Notes

3.0.0 is a Major Version of EPIC releases.

For customers upgrading from a different Major Version (prior to 2.5), these notes provide additional information on what is new in this Major Version.

• Redesigned Ultra-Friendly User experience for the Home Page for Intercom, Paging, and Alerts.

• Confirm Room Lockdown Check-in feature, allowing visibility into which rooms have completed lockdown procedures.

• SAFE View allowing 3rd party security cameras to be viewed in EPIC during an emergency.

• Supporting multiple SIP extensions for each room.

• Paging improvements that allow for more control.

EPIC 3.0 is a major release update that includes significant user backend changes needed to provide enhanced security, improved performance, and support. Administrators should review the EPIC Interactive Training Module and prepare and train users prior to rolling out the updates.

When migrating from a version prior to 2.5, notification events must be manually migrated to a contact list and then added to events. If administrators edit events after updating to 2.5 prior to migrating contacts, event contacts may be lost.
